Loved this! A 100+ year old post oak lived my yard in Brenham. It was struck by lightning twice during my time there, the 2nd time literally taking the hit to save the house. Dear beloved Post Oak, it spoke to me often. Loved and respected that tree.
Love your tree photos. It’s sad – that we’ve just taken down some of our own trees, plums and Australian natives that we grew over time in our backyard, to make way for subdivision and housing. I miss their shade and ‘talk’ as the wind rustles through the branches. And here’s me thinking I was the only one who ‘loved looking’ at trees when travelling!
Thanks for the thoughts Robyn. I really wonder what stories we could learn from trees – especially real old ones.
Great shots of lovely trees — even the tree remains! 😀
