I had fun at the Edith J. Carrier Arboretum the other day.
Lots of trails and paths for exploring.
Thistle bloom. (Is this a weed?)
A weed is a plant considered undesirable in a particular situation, “a plant in the wrong place”.
Hickory and Chestnut forest.
A rickety suspension bridge.
Can’t wait to stroll through this place in the fall and winter.
Then I had more fun editing one of the photos. First, is the original photo. I was captivated by the brilliant orange color in these blooms.
What do you think? Could they pass as twins?
While I was walking around the arboretum snapping photos, my wife was taking an art class Botanical Illustration in Pen and Ink with Artist in Residence Lynda Eades Chandler.
Following is an illustration of a Phalaenopsis Orchid she completed after the class.
I did not know she had artistic talent. This goes to show, it is never to late to learn about hidden talent.
Thanks for stopping by, y’all come back now.
